Welcome to Partners for Active Living

Partners for Active Living seeks to make Spartanburg County, South Carolina a healthy, more livable community by promoting walking, bicycling and physical activity as a part of everyday life.

A few of our successes that will impact the health of the Spartanburg community:

1. Assisting Spartanburg County schools secure federal Safe Routes to School grants.
2. Leading the City of Spartanburg’s effort to be a Bicycle Friend Community, which was realized in 2007.
3. Launching a significant initiative to reduce childhood obesity rates in Spartanburg County through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities program.
4. Realizing numerous policy and infrastructure changes that impact active living opportunities in our community.
5. Having more than X bicycle rentals since 2007, which means more bicycles on the road and more physical activity.
